I have finished my molecular biology textbook and loved it (so many cool fun facts...I was not aware that the response to siRNA could be so greatly amplified...basically when the nuclease activity of the RNA induced silencing complex known as Argo, or slicer if you prefer, cleaves the siRNA produced by dicer, two bizarre RNA molecules--one capless and the other tailless!-- are produced, and RNA dependent RNA polymerase uses one or both of the demented progeny of argo in order to create more dsDNA, while of course amplifies the responce as Argo will cut it to yield more siRNA,,,Also, did you know that frost damage in plants is largely caused by structural proteins called ice nucleation factors which promote the formation of ice crystals that puncture the plant, releasing nutrients and providing tissue for the bacteria to grow on? Or that temperature sensative missense mutations (ts) mutations typically result in a protein that folds correctly only at lower "permissive" temperatures? This is why animals such as ferrets have dark tips at the ends of their tails and paws; the animals harbor a mutant melanin protein encoding black pigment. This protein will be inactivated toward the metabolic core of the body, but at the cooler extremities, it will be expressed, hence the little ferret booties :) )

Anyway, I swear I am going to post my 119 page outline in addition answers to the chapter review questions soon. I just need to finish the review questions (had not realized there were well-over six-hundred review questions in the book...FAIL XD).

And, yes, once I finish the review questions, I should hopefully post some of my marimba playing (re-learned all my old NYSSMA songs--whoot!!!) and get to working on a design for the 2019 MIT class sweatshirt that probably won't win, but will be a blast to make. And I must finish the bunny I am sewing for Sophie (my niece). And the recycling poster. And I need to illustrate the poem I'm submitting for the yearbook.

...Back to textbook review!!!!! XD

Squishy Love,

Teh Amoeba
