Rwwwar! The Amoeba is Back!
A new semester has begun!!!!!! Amoeba is super excited to be back on campus and cannot wait to do a ton as environmental chair, get involved in free fossils, delve into courses (current course-load is Art of the Probable, Phsyics GIR, science writing, and Biology GIR...may take a class on Python as well to see if computer programming may be an interest because then I could swtich my major to from biology computer science and molecular biology while continuing to minor in literature and writing), and enjoy the immuno biology book purchased for $1.00 (same book fair where the Academic Cell hailed from!!!). Anyway, Amoeba has posted a link to a quizlet review with over 1,000 review terms from the Academic Cell in addition to some jewelry, marimba melodies, completed environmental chair projects, and art!

Ah, yes! Nearly forgot to mentin two things:
1. I loved Microbe Hunters. Was quite a good read. I highly reccommend it to anyone interested in either history or microbiology or both.
2. Viralzone is an awesome website that I am slowly becoming addited to. It not only offers high quality images of every virus and the protein subunits that comprise them, but also the virus's host range, nique features, and etymology. For instance, did you know Pandora virus is a flask shaped nucleocytoplasmic DNA virus whose name hails from the fact that Pandora was actually given a large flask/jar ("pithos") rather than a flask.
